Just another beautiful day here in western Ma. Ricky flew threw school today because he wanted to spend the day outside. We tried having school outside but he has a hard time concentrating, unless it's a craft. I think at the end of this month I will slow down with table school work (maybe 2-3 days a week instead of 5) and focus more on unit studies and field trips. I am currently attempting to gather information for our first lapbook, the theme is going to be cowboys. I'm really excited about starting a lapbook but at the same time I'm alittle nervous too.
After school we enjoyed the afternoon outside. We studied insects on this giant maple tree in our front yard...Caila found a caterpillar and managed to squish it... and we also made a caterpillar habitat so we can watch and record the life changes of a caterpillar. All in all it was a great day!!
Here is a pic of our catterpillar hut...
Looks like so much fun! We did a butterfly garden and came home to our butterfly's out. The kids are loving it and seeing them. We had lots of fun on vacation doing nature studies! Love the photos! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Jenn,
ReplyDeleteI know you will have a blast with the lapbook. Nothing to be nervous about...no stern teacher looking down over your shoulder...hehehe!!!
Can't wait to see it!
Hugs,
Jenn
