So I have seriously slacked in the art department with my kids in the last few months so I made a promise to them that we would get back into it. I've added a link up for you to join in on the fun so just grab my button and link up so we can inspire each other and pass it on to our kids because as Picasso said
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
So our art project this week was inspired by this This was done by Jim Dine. Jim Dine is closely linked with the development of Pop Art in the early 1960s. Much of his work includes heart which is perfect for Valentine's day which is right around the corner...Here is a link with some of his prints.
You can also find a post about this art project at art projects for kids her blog is chuck full of wonderful art ideas to get those creative juices flowing:)
We did deviate a little from the original works of Jim Dine and instead if the same bold background we decided to make a stained glass effect with watercolor so that the heart was more of the focus point. For the heart we used oil pastel which is one of my favorite art tools because of it's rich bold colors!!
P.S. This was a very big post for me too because it's the first time I made a button for myself with a link up..
lovely art work!
