Two gifts under $10

Here are the two presents that we brought to a twin Birthday party today. We just found out about the party on Monday and with the van being broken down I really didn't think about a gift until last night...which is very typical of me anyway (I work better under pressure) I wanted to keep the gift under $10 but at the same time I wanted the gifts to be special. So after much thinking...this is what we came up with
The kids tie dyed these shirts..
This was actually the only expense for both gifts and the shirts were under $5 each.

For Quinn's present my wonderfully talented husband made this cute little wooden dagger  last night and I made the sheath this morning out of scrap fabric.
And for Moia's gift I headed out back to our wood pile rummaged around till I found some branches  that would make a perfect table and a few chairs. I used my scroll saw that the kids got me last year for my birthday and cut them up and wood glued the table together. I also found some scrap fabric for a princess party table cloth. We then needed some party girls for this princess party so I went on the hunt for a handful of peg people in my wooden stash and painted them up in cute girly dresses I also found some other wood pieces in our scrap pile to make present shapes and cupcake shapes...and the birthday set was complete!
The t-shirts also made great wrapping paper..lol

  4. Absolutely brilliant!! How much do scroll saws go for? I have wanted one for several years and wanted Mike to make me certain toys for the kids. I am thinking I just need to give it a whirl myself! No clue as to how much I should spend, what type model is good enough etc,...
