Another Valentine's day gift done...

So today we recycled our old crayons and made beautiful flower crayons to give for our co-op friends at our Valentine's day party for this thursday... The kids had a blast adding glitter and peeling off all the wrappers...although I have to admit I was not a fan of the peeling process, Mommy cheated and used a knife. And a word to the wise Don't use the fat crayons they won't save you time..they take forever to melt.
Directions for melting crayons...
peel the paper off and break them into little pieces...
Spray your muffin tin (below is a mini muffin tin) with vegetable spray and pour some crayons into each spot. The more or less you put depends on what size you want for each chunky crayon. You can also group the crayons into colors that are fun together, red and blue for purple, pink tones or blue tones.

Place the muffin tin full of crayons into a preheated oven of 275 degrees F. Watch them carefully, they do melt fast. Bake them for about 7-10 minutes. When they looked melted enough, carefully and slowly remove them from the oven. You can stir them with a toothpick for a swirly look, or leave them as is. Let them cool completely (can be placed in the freezer to speed up process once the tin is not so hot.) We also added glitter for a little extra...
We used this pampered chef muffin pan to make the rose crayons..

  2. What gorgeous crayons. I love the tin you used to make these.

The fabric dollhouse you made is amazing. Such a special gift for your little girl. I know that my daughter would be over the moon with a dollhouse like that.

I notice that we are both due to have our third babies fairly soon. The countdown is well and truly on now.
