Today's moments..Tomorrow's memories

"A family in harmony will prosper in everything."
CHINESE PROVERB
What a wonderful weekend we had especially after such a busy week we were able to slow down and be together as a family. The kids were so excited for Sunday because it was daddy's day off especially since he's been working 6 days a week. That man amazes me...after working 10-12 hr day lately he still is able to come home with a smile on his face and gets right into kid mode (of course I'm sure it would be kinda hard to not be in kid mode when the kids declare that it's pig-pile on daddy time)
Our Sunday was so wonderful I sometimes wish everyday could be daddy's day off!! We cleaned up the house a bit because it was pretty messy from the whirlwind week we had then we made our family tree (something that I found floating around pintrest and wanted to make so bad for our family...)
Here's our finished product...

The kids had so much painting their hands...well everyone except Annabelle she was not feelin' it AT ALL!!! I love the way it came out so much!! I put it on our big wall of family photos and every time I walk by it I can't help but to smile.
It's nice to know that this is our family... our treasures here on earth.
In truth a family is what you make it. It is made strong, not by number of heads counted at the dinner table, but by the rituals you help family members create, by the memories you share, by the commitment of time, caring, and love you show to one another, and by the hopes for the future you have as individuals and as a unit.

To be honest with you I sometimes have to remember that the value of my time with the kids, is far more important then my time spend else where. The days may be long but the the year are very short, and it seems the older I get the faster they fly by. I hope that when the kids grow up they remember these silly fun times we have together.
Today's little moments
becomes
tomorrow's precious memories .

  1. This is so true. It's so important to involve your kids in what you're doing and also to be involved in what they're doing too.
